Issa Barry

Issa Barry
Year of birth:
2004

At the start of our program, Issa was a ten year old boy in third grade. His parents are agricultural workers (and are illiterate) living in the countryside, where he wasn’t be able to go to school. That’s why Issa is being raised by a different family with eight other children. He takes out his neatly written booklet from his school bag. His foster parents are glad that he is a very hard-working student. All eight of his foster parent’s children go to school, that’s why they stuggle to pay the fee. The father is unemployed, he lost his job many years ago. The large family lives on the small amount earnt by the mother who is a teacher.
